All across Washington vineyard leaves are changing from green to red to yellow, signaling that the 2011 harvest season is coming to an end. Soon it will be time to tuck the new wines into barrels for the long winter ahead. And we’ve got just the place to visit to send these wines on their way.

Like autumn leaves changing color - and a sure sign of the shortening days of summer – veraison is taking place all across Washington wine country. This is the time when grapes change from green to yellow or red, signaling that harvest is not far off. And Yakima Valley is the perfect place to Catch the Crush!

2011 Auction of Washington Wines
The Auction of Washington Wines is one of the state’s premier wine events. The auction takes place August 18th-21st in Woodinville. The event, which first started in 1988, is a benefit for Seattle Children’s Hospital and the Washington Wine Education Foundation.

2011 Walla Walla Valley Spring Release
Walla Walla Valley’s annual Spring Release Weekend is coming up May 6th to 8th. This is one of the valley’s premier event weekends, with wineries showing off their latest and greatest and opening their doors to welcome the arrival of spring.
